Introduction:

In this project emphasis has given to protect our home or office by using a face recognition door lock system. This system is simple, effective, economic and reliable. Only the authorized persons whose faces are registered before can enter in to the house.

Materials required:

  1. Resistor
  2. Transistor
  3. Esp32Cam
  4. Relay
  5. Diode
  6. L.E.D
  7. Adaptor
  8. 7805 voltage regulator
  9. Conducting wire

Components description:

Esp32cam

It is a low-cost, small-sized camera module that combines the ESP32 microcontroller with an OV2640 camera. It’s designed for a variety of Internet of Things (IoT) applications. It includes wireless video monitoring, image upload, and QR code recognition.

It is capable of processing as well as transmitting images over Wi-Fi.

USB to TTL module

It establishes serial communication between computer and esp32cam.

Solenoid lock

It is an electromechanical locking mechanism which uses an electromagnetic solenoid to engage or disengage the locking bolt. It allows for electrical control of a door providing a secured opening and closing mechanism.

Working:

When camera detects the registered face, solenoid lock opens for 2 second. For any face which is not registered before, solenoid lock remains closed.

Circuit diagram:

This connection diagram shown below is necessary to program the esp32cam by using a USB to TTL module.
